Reporting a correction
The most useful message you can send us is a correction. To make it actionable, please include:
- the route name exactly as it appears on the plate;
- the date you were on the route;
- what the survey says and what you actually found;
- any photo, waypoint file or GPS trace that supports it.
Water points, bridge conditions, permit rules and closure dates change fastest, so those reports are the most valuable. We fold corrections into the survey and update the page rather than appending a comment thread.
Licensing and reuse
If you want to reproduce a survey, an elevation plate or a contour plate — in a guidebook, a course handout, a signage project or a commercial product — write to us with what you want to use and where it will appear. Short quotations with a visible link back to the source page do not need permission.
What we cannot help with
- Current conditions. We cannot tell you whether a route is open today. The managing agency or national park authority for that area can, and their answer beats ours every time.
- Guiding and instruction. We do not take people out or teach skills. Ask the local guiding association for a qualified guide.
- Permits and bookings. Permit lotteries, hut beds and shuttle seats are handled by the land manager or operator, not by us.
- Advertising and removal requests. We do not place individual ads. If you have a problem with a specific advertisement, report it to the ad network that served it, and copy us if you would like it looked at from this end.
Privacy of your message
We use your email only to answer you and to log the correction. We do not add senders to a mailing list and we do not pass correspondence to third parties. See the privacy policy for the detail.
